Dermal Fillers

HYALURONIC ACID • COLLAGEN BIOSTIMULATOR

As we age, the effects of time become apparent, manifesting in various signs of aging. From diminished volume and muscle tone to thinning skin, these changes contribute to the appearance of deep folds and lines. Dermal fillers offer a solution by replenishing lost volume, resulting in smoother contours and reduced wrinkles. For a natural and balanced outcome, it's essential to approach facial rejuvenation holistically, treating the face as a whole. While fillers deliver immediate results, temporary swelling and bruising may occur due to the injectable nature of the treatment.

Treatment Guide

  • Plan your treatment at least 1 month before any significant event.

Discontinue blood thinners, such as Aspirin, Aleve, Ibuprofen, and Motrin, 3-5 days prior to your appointment. Inform us if you're on chronic blood thinners like Coumadin or Lovenox.

Cease herbal medications or teas 3-5 days before your treatment. These may include supplements like fish oils, green tea, and ginseng.

Refrain from high doses of Vitamin E or any other excessive vitamins 2 weeks before your appointment. You may continue with a regular multivitamin.

Avoid excessive alcohol consumption within 2 days of your treatment. Additionally, refrain from using blood thinners such as Advil and Aspirin, as they can increase the risk of bruising.

  • Apply a cold pack or ice to the treatment area(s) immediately after to reduce swelling and discomfort. Ice intermittently for optimal results.

Consider taking Arnica supplements to assist with bruising and swelling.

Keep your head elevated above your heart for 4 hours after the procedure.

Apply over-the-counter antibiotic ointment and/or 1% hydrocortisone topically to aid in healing.

  • While immediate results are visible, it may take 2-3 weeks for dermal fillers to settle completely. Patience is key.

Swelling and bruising are common, and it takes time for dermal filler to rehydrate and create a natural result. Allow the skin to heal before addressing any unevenness or asymmetry.

  • Dermal fillers typically last between 6 months to 2 years, depending on the type used, treatment area, and individual metabolic rate.

Repeated use may lead to longer-lasting results due to the stimulation of the body's collagen supply.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise immediately after treatment; normal activities can be resumed the next day.

Stay away from excessive heat like saunas or steam rooms for 1-2 weeks post-treatment.

Refrain from strong facial pressure, such as facial tools or massages, for 1-2 weeks.

Postpone skin treatments like lasers or facials for at least 3-4 weeks.

  • Swelling and bruising are expected, but downtime varies among individuals.

Any bumps or marks usually disappear within a few days.

Cover bruises or marks with makeup after 24 hours, using a gentle touch to avoid rubbing.

  • Previous cold sore or oral herpes infection history may be reactivated by facial treatment. Consider taking antiviral medication before and after treatment to reduce the risk.

  • Schedule a follow-up visit 3 weeks after your appointment for optimal long-term results.

Your 6-month maintenance appointment will be scheduled during your treatment.
